Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 30th, 2025

At Kiveo, your privacy is a priority. We believe your reading habits and thoughts are your own, and we’ve built Kiveo with privacy in mind from the ground up. This policy explains what we (don’t) collect, how we use any necessary data, and your rights as a user.

1. What We Collect

We strive to collect the minimum information needed to provide and improve Kiveo. Here’s what that includes:

  • Local Data: Most of your data (books, notes, reading sessions, etc.) is stored on your device or iCloud, and we cannot access it.
  • Optional Sync (iCloud): If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored securely in your iCloud account, managed by Apple. We do not see or access this data.
  • Analytics (if applicable): If we collect usage data, it’s anonymized and aggregated. We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how the app is used (e.g., which features are most popular), but never in a way that identifies you.

2. What We Don’t Collect

We do not:

  • Collect personal information like your name, email, or location by default.
  • Track your behavior across other apps or websites.
  • Sell or share your data with advertisers or third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

If Kiveo integrates with any third-party APIs (like ISBN lookup services), we only send the minimum required query data. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

4. Your Rights

You are in control of your data. You can:

  • Delete the app to remove your local data.
  • Remove your data from iCloud at any time via iOS settings.
  • Contact us with any privacy-related concerns at [email protected].

5. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we’ll post the changes in the app or on our website. We’ll never make changes that reduce your privacy without clearly informing you first.
