About Kiveo
Kiveo is a private space to save quotes, reflect on what you read, and track your personal growth through ideas.
Readers who’d rather finish one book well than start five. Book-club members, students, journalers, and anyone who’s been keeping a commonplace book in the back of a Notes app and has wanted somewhere proper to put it.
Those apps are optimized for social signals: public ratings and shelves, comparisons with friends. Kiveo doesn’t have a public timeline, a feed, or any social proof.
It’s a single-player experience by design.
There is nowhere in Kiveo where you are ranked against other readers. There is no surface that shows what other people are reading or how fast. Your reading is between you and the book.
Yes! Kiveo stores your reflections locally and only syncs with iCloud.
Not at all. Whether you read daily or once a month, Kiveo is about noticing what resonates with you.
Kiveo is a made-up word, but it’s rooted in real ideas. It draws subtle inspiration from “kivi,” the Finnish and Estonian word for stone — a symbol of stillness, grounding, and permanence. The soft “eo” ending keeps it open and gentle, evoking space and breath.
Kiveo is designed to be just that:A quiet, enduring space to reflect, gather thoughts, and trace your personal growth — like placing markers along a path.
Price & Platform
Yes. Kiveo is free on the App Store, with no account required.
Not yet, but we’re working on it. Kiveo started as an iOS app, and we want to make sure the Android experience feels just as thoughtful before we share it. If you’d like to know when it’s ready, join our newsletter — we’ll let you know.
No. The app works fully without one. If you’d like your notes to sync between an iPhone and an iPad, that uses your existing Apple ID — Kiveo never sees your email.
Privacy & Data
On your device. We don’t host your reading data on our servers. If you turn on iCloud sync it uses Apple’s standard end-to-end encrypted mechanism, which means we still can’t read your quotes and reflections.
We’re working on a quiet recommendations feature that pulls suggestions from the books already on your library.
It will run anonymously. We will never build a behavioral profile of you.
App Features
It stays in your library, under Paused or DNF.
Nothing about the app suggests that this is failure. Some books just aren’t right for right now. The library will hold it for whenever you come back.
Optionally, you can hide DNF’d books too.
It holds a queue of seven books: the ones you’re actually reaching for next. You promote books to it from your library and re-order whenever you want. The cap is intentional.
