Welcome to Kiveo. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Kiveo app and related services. By using Kiveo, you agree to these Terms.
1. What Kiveo Is
Kiveo is a reading tracking app that helps you log books, capture quotes, track reading progress, and reflect on what you read.
2. Your Account
You’re responsible for maintaining the security of your account and any activity that occurs under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it updated. You must be at least 13 years old to use Kiveo (or the minimum age required in your country).
3. Your Content
When you add quotes, reflections, notes, or other content to Kiveo, it remains yours. By using the app, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and sync your content solely to provide the service to you. We won’t sell your content or use it for advertising.
You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to save any content you add (for example, quotes from books for personal use).
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Kiveo for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to access other users’ data or accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
- Use automated systems to access the service beyond normal app usage
- Circumvent rate limits or other technical restrictions
5. Purchases
Kiveo may offer optional paid features or subscriptions in the future. If you make a purchase, the specific terms (pricing, billing, refunds) will be presented at the time of purchase and governed by Apple’s App Store policies.
6. Intellectual Property
Kiveo’s name, logo, design, and original content are owned by Fanxie Lab.
You may not use our branding without permission. The app uses third-party data sources (like book metadata) which remain the property of their respective owners.
7. Third-Party Services
Kiveo may integrate with third-party services (such as book databases or import tools). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms. We’re not responsible for third-party content or services.
8. Service Availability
We strive to keep Kiveo available and reliable, but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted access. We may occasionally need to perform maintenance or updates. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
9. Disclaimers
Kiveo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t guarantee that the service will meet all your needs or be error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kiveo and its creator(s) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim.
11. Termination
You can stop using Kiveo at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends, but provisions that should survive (like limitations of liability) will remain in effect.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you through the app or by other means. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
