Added
- Intentions. Set up to five reading intentions, from Settings or Home, and watch each one grow as a vine from the reading you already record, with nothing to check off.
- Your own number. Alongside the presets, every kind of intention offers Custom, so the goal can be forty books or twelve thousand pages.
- Read it again. Choose “Read again” on a finished book to begin a fresh reading, with the first time’s dates, pages and sessions kept just as they were.
- Quote scanning. Point the camera at a page, or choose a photo, and drag across the words you want; the page is read on your phone and the picture is never kept.
- A moment for finishing. Finishing a book in a live session, or reaching an intention, now opens a quiet full-screen page, with room for a final reflection on the book.
- Cancel a session. A new menu on the live session screen lets you discard a session you didn’t mean to keep, while its quotes and reflections stay with the book.
- The Colored share-card theme. Book cards can now sit on a backdrop drawn from the book’s own cover colours.
- Intentions in your backups. Backups now carry your intentions and their history, and Reset All Data clears them along with everything else.
Changed
- A warmer welcome. Setting up Kiveo is now eight unhurried screens: add what you’re reading, choose a reminder time if you want one, and meet the person behind the app.
- Room on the Nightstand. Finished books can wait there for a re-read, and its book picker now filters by Want to Read, Paused and Finished.
- “Days in a row”. The reading-days count on Home has a gentler name, and the daily-reading intention wears a sun instead of a flame.
- Gentler goals first. Setting an intention now opens on the most doable kinds, and “Books this year” lets go of its 100-book option.
- Past intentions, tucked away. Finished and let-go intentions rest behind a Past header, with a gentle Clear for when they pile up.
- Rate Kiveo, with the other kindnesses. It now sits under Support Kiveo in Settings, beside Restore Purchases.
- A little more cover. The book cover on the Lock Screen Live Activity stands a touch taller, so it’s easier to recognise.
- Quote scanning on older iPads. Reading a page needs Apple’s Neural Engine, so on the few older iPads without one the Scan button isn’t offered; every iPhone that runs iOS 18 has it.
Fixed
- Hours read now follows your region’s number format, so Spanish readers see 12,5 rather than 12.5.
- Export Data now opens the share sheet with your backup ready to send, instead of an empty panel, and Import Data had the same fix.
- A book’s Keepsakes tab now shows every quote and reflection kept for it, including books with only a 13-digit ISBN, or none, and ones saved during a live session.
- Books with very large cover art now show their cover in the Live Activity instead of a blank patch.
- A reflection written alongside a quote during a live session now counts in the session’s tally and recap.
- Reset All Data no longer crashes when your library has reading sessions in it.
