Kiveo 1.2.0 for iOS

The Nightstand queue, a Paused status, reading reminders, custom books from Goodreads imports, and a tip jar. The biggest release yet.

The story: Kiveo 1.2: Primrose — A Quieter Way to Track Your Reading

Added

  • The Nightstand. A queue of up to seven books you mean to read next, on your Home screen, in the order you drag them into, with a note on each if you like.
  • Paused. A new status for a book you’ve set aside for now, kept out of Continue Reading and one tap from Resume Reading.
  • Did Not Finish, with a note. Letting go of a book now offers an optional note on why, and Home gains a small section for the books you didn’t finish.
  • Reading reminders. Off by default: a daily reminder at a time you choose that names the book you’re reading, a nudge after a few quiet days, and a way to pause both.
  • Swap Edition and Swap Cover. Switch a book to another edition, or give it a cover from another edition or your own photos, without losing a session, quote or reflection.
  • Quotes and reflections, mid-session. You can now capture both without leaving a live reading session.
  • Custom books from Goodreads imports. Books the import can’t find can now come in as custom books, one at a time or all at once.
  • Support Kiveo. An optional one-time tip in three sizes, Bookmark, Book and Shelf, and any tip unlocks six alternate app icons.
  • A request to rate Kiveo. Now and then, at a natural pause in your reading, Kiveo may ask whether you’d rate it on the App Store; you can always say no.

Changed

  • A search screen that isn’t blank. Before you type, search now shows seasonal picks From Our Garden, your recently added books, and your recent searches.
  • Settings, redesigned. Settings now sits in warm cards on a textured background instead of a plain list.
  • A new welcome. New readers are greeted by six redesigned screens with warmer words, and dark mode throughout.
  • The Book, Journey, Keepsakes. A book’s tabs have new names, and an empty tab now shows an illustration and a way to begin.
  • Aliases, everywhere. A book’s alias now shows in live sessions and on the Live Activity too.
  • Small touches. A soft glow when you finish a book, a gentle lift when you press a cover, and placeholders that breathe while covers load.
  • Latin American Spanish. Kiveo now speaks Spanish for Latin America as well.

Fixed

  • Goodreads imports no longer fail when the exported file leaves out a column, such as Average Rating.
  • Live sessions no longer reset their timer, lose their place or flicker when you come back from the background, pull down notifications or capture a quote.
  • Books now leave the Nightstand when a progress update changes their status.
  • The Nightstand’s background now matches the rest of the app.
  • Post-sized share cards now use Instagram’s 4:5 shape, and the preview matches the saved image, with long quotes scaled to fit.
  • Adding a book to your library no longer closes and reopens its sheet.
  • Tapping a reminder now opens the right book.
  • Search filter pills no longer clip on narrow screens or in longer translations.
  • On iOS 26, the Home screen no longer shifts back and forth as it settles.
  • Hiding paused and did-not-finish books works again, and custom covers show in the book picker.
  • Quote and reflection stats count this week properly and no longer repeat numbers.
  • Custom book covers now sync over iCloud and show on the Live Activity.
